In video, Mayor Frey urges 'The Bachelorette,' fiancé to move to Minneapolis

- The reality dating competition “The Bachelorette” ended Monday with its star, Becca Kufrin of Prior Lake, Minnesota accepting a proposal from one of her final two contestants, Garrett Yrigoyen.

The newly engaged couple now faces their next big decision: choosing a place to start their new life together.

During the live after-show, the pair said they would split their time over the next couple of months before making a decision about where they will live between Minneapolis and Yrigoyen's hometown of Reno, Nevada. There’s at least one person out there hoping they choose Minneapolis.

In a video posted to Twitter Tuesday, Mayor Jacob Frey made his pitch for the city as the place where Kufrin and her fiancé should settle down. He called the decision a “no-brainer.”

Frey cited Minneapolis’ music scene, top-rated park system and its status as one of the healthiest cities in the country. However, his final argument may be the most persuasive of all.

“The final reason to choose Minneapolis over Reno is really simple,” Frey said. “It’s simple, Becca. The alternative is Reno.”
