Gov. Mark Dayton declares 'Beyoncé Day' in Minnesota

Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith proclaimed Monday, May 23, 2016, to be “Beyoncé Day” in Minnesota, while thousands gather at TCF Bank Stadium for her fourth performance in the Twin Cities.

"Beyoncé has influenced many Minnesota girls and women with the powerful, positive messages in her music, and her impact and success have been widely-recognized," a press release from Gov. Dayton's office stated Monday.

Beyoncé first performed in Minnesota during the Verizon Ladies First Tour in 2004. She returned in 2009 as part of her I Am... World Tour, and most recently performed in the state in 2013, during the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.

Her performance on Monday at TCF Bank Stadium will begin at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
