Massive street painting at IDS Center finished

The Minneapolis Foundation is celebrating 100 years with a massive street painting that lets you stand on top of the IDS Center. Award-winning artist Shawn McCann spent two days creating the large-scale, indoor painting that shows his version of the future of Minneapolis.

The painting will remain on display in the IDS Center Crystal Court until Friday night. The piece features an optical illusion, which creates a 3D effect when it's viewed at a certain vantage point.

"People will be able to get their photograph taken on it and do all sorts of fun poses on the piece itself," McCann said.

The Minneapolis Foundation was established in 1915 to enable residents to pool their charitable giving for greater impact.
