Storms weaken before moving into the area early Saturday; just bring some rain.

What a wild overnight across portions of the Upper Midwest as storms developed in Montana & Wyoming, crossed the entire state of South Dakota, and ended up in Minnesota before dawn early Saturday. They packed a wallop to our west with wind gusts to 95 mph and even a few tornadoes reported in South Dakota, but they weakened just as they crossed the border into Minnesota.

You can see all of the severe weather reports in this picture with only two happening in Minnesota; relegated to the far southwestern corner. But some areas certainly got plenty of rain with 1-2" pretty widespread in the central part of the state, with the rest of the area generally under an inch. For most metro locations, rainfall totals were from a quarter to a half inch.
