St. Paul to discuss reopening Lilydale Park where landslide killed 2 kids

This week, the city of St. Paul will begin discussing whether or not it should reopen part of Lilydale Park, where a 2013 landslide killed two children on a school field trip.

A study will be released Wednesday about the 50-acre section of Lilydale Park and if the public should be allowed access again.

9-year-old Haysem Sani and 10-year-old Mohamed Fofana died and two other children were injured during a field trip to the park back in 2013. The city of St. Paul agreed to a million-dollar settlement that was split among the families of the victims.
