St. Paul might rename E. 4th Street to 'Positively 4th Street'

The St. Paul City Council could vote to “co-name” a street after Bob Dylan.

On Wednesday afternoon, the council will take up a resolution to co-name the portion of E. 4th Street east of CHS Field to Commercial Street as “Positively 4th Street,” one of his most famous songs. Apparently, the lyrics of the song are actually a nod to SE 4th Street in Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota where he was a student for a short time, and where his face and the song title are painted in bold colors on a wall lining the street.

The resolution is sponsored by Dave Thune. The city council is slated to hear the resolution at their regularly-scheduled meeting at 3:30 p.m.
