Snow Cover still shy of average

The state is looking a far cry different from just a week ago now with a solid 2-8" snow cover across much of southern and central Minnesota. But there is still a hole in the snow just north of the metro, which is quite unusual for this time of year.

We will be adding to some of the snow across northern Minnesota over the weekend and early next week, but temperatures will be warm enough across the south to get some melting and compacting going, so the snow cover will continue to change and stay below seasonal averages over the next week.
