Minneapolis youth sports legend Gary Wilson passes away

Gary Wilson devoted more than 50 years of his life to mentoring, coaching and serving all of the youth sports programs in north Minneapolis. Wilson passed away Wednesday, ending his battle with cancer. He was 79.

Wilson learned in December that his cancer treatments were no longer working. He made the decision to begin hospice care at home.

Wilson's name is on the floor of the gymnasium at Farview Park, where he'd been the athletic director for 50 years.
