Massive traffic backup at MSP Airport after semi fails clearance

Travelers making an early commute to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport had an unexpected delay Monday morning. A semi that was too tall for the clearance at Terminal 1 had to be backed out to clear the one-way road.

The incident caused inbound traffic to stack up, backing up onto Highway 5. Some commuters reported that people were getting out of their cars and walking to the terminal to catch their flights.

The jam was cleared by 6 a.m.
