First 10 days of 2015 have nothing on last year

No denying that it has been a frigid start to 2015.  Wind chill advisories for a week straight and 7 straight days of subzero readings, I don't think anyone will argue that fact.  But, it could always be worse.  In fact it was, just a year ago.  As cold as the first 10 days of 2014 have been, it was far colder this time last year… on average, by a solid 5 degrees! We are supposed to start the year with an average temperatures just under 16°, but 2015 has managed to stay under 7°, with 2014 coming in at almost 1°.  In fact, the average temperature didn't jump above zero until January 10th of last year when the high finally reached the mid 20's.  So just when you think things are bad, just be happy they aren't any worse.  More good news; a January thaw is looking more likely just a few days from now so relief is on the way.
