The River Falls Police Department said a body pulled from the Kinnickinnic River is believed to be missing UW-River Falls student Bobby Sontag at about 1 p.m.

The body was pulled from the river just below the dam on S. Winter Street, near the area  where Sontag, a native of Shafer, Minn., was last seen early Friday morning. A wallet was discovered on the body that included photo identification and other documentation belonging him. Sontag, known to friends as Bobby or Bo, is a dairy science major at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Police are continuing to investigate and the medical examiner will release an identity and nature of death.

Sontag was last seen on the 400 Block of South Main Street at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday, May 1. According to police, he was walking home with a friend from the bar and alcohol was believed to be involved. While walking home, the two were separated and the friend went on his own way. Sunday's search efforts were cut short by a thunderstorm, but the Pierce County sheriff's office resumed a search of Lake George on Monday morning.
