3 reasons to mark A Taste of Minnesota on your calendar

Back for its second year at the Carver County Fairgrounds, here are 3 reasons to head to Waconia for A Taste of Minnesota this weekend.

It's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 11 am to 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free until 1 p.m., then $10. Kids 12 and under are free with an adult. 


Daily headliners include:

Gear Daddies: Thursday, July 2
Foghat: Friday, July 3
P.O.D.: Saturday, July 4
Phil Vassar: Sunday, July 5

There are 37 bands performing all weekend.

Food and beer

There's a new craft beer area featuring Enki Brewing, Excelsior Brewing Company and Waconia Brewing Company, plus tons of food vendors including Duke's Poutine, Hoppers Bar and Grill, Lola's Lakehouse, Val's Pinoy Grill, among others.

Blood drive

The Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive each day from 12 to 6 p.m. More information here.
