A 32-year-old Cold Spring, Minn. man is accused of attempting to rob a Victoria's Secret at Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud before it opened on Thursday. Police have not disclosed how much merchandise made it out of the store, if any.
At 4:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to the mall and saw Timothy Scott Prince leaving the building, running south away from the mall. They pursued him on-foot and caught him a block away.
Police said Prince and perhaps other suspects had forced a service door open to the mall and only broke into Victoria's Secret. It appeared mall security had "interrupted the burglary" causing the suspects to flee. Evidence at the scene also suggests that there was another suspect, noting an interior window at Victoria's Secret was broken out into the mall area.
The entire mall was searched but police have not located any other suspects. Other mall employees were either asked to leave or secure themselves inside their respective stores.
Prince has been convicted for several burglary and theft offenses and was taken into custody and transported to the Stearns County Jail where he is being held for second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and fleeing an officer.
