2 weekend shootings in Minneapolis, 1 fatal

Minneapolis police are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend, one of them a fatality that spilled from a fight in a food market.

North Side Food Market fight

At 9:30 p.m. on Friday, an altercation inside the North Side Food Market moved out onto the sidewalk where one person shot the victim before police arrived.

The man’s body was found near the area where shots were reportedly fired near 36th and Lyndale Avenue North. Police said it is not believed to be a random incident, but no arrests have been made at this time and the victim’s identity has not been released.

Woman wounded early Sunday

Police found a woman with a gunshot wound to the arm on the front steps of a home in the 5900-block of Camden Avenue North around 6 a.m. Sunday.

A neighbor called 911 after hearing several shots. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
