A man with an axe was apparently lying in the grass near the tennis courts at Rosemount High School on Thursday afternoon. The reason why remains unclear.
Police were informed at 1:24 p.m. that there was a man near the school's tennis course, and he had an axe. When they arrived, police were told the man was laying in the grass next to the courts, the axe lying next to him. His identity has not been released.
Officers identified the suspect and believed there were no threats to students or staff. Police said he had several warrants for his arrest when they found him and he was brought to the Dakota County Jail. The incident is currently under investigation by the Rosemount Police Department.
