17 alcohol-related 911 calls on Lake Minnetonka on July 4

The Hennepin County sheriff’s office in its post-July 4 holiday weekend review said officers responded to 75 calls for service during a busy weekend on Lake Minnetonka, 17 of them alcohol-related.

Officials pinned both “irresponsible consumption of alcohol and the warm weather which attracted especially large crowds to the lake this weekend” as the two contributing factors to the large call volume.
