We tried it once last week but the clouds got in the way. Now, as we end the weekend we once again have a shot at hitting the big 7-0. This second chance at that magical temperature threshold is also threatened by clouds, but this time the wind will be on our side. As you can see below we have seen some nice 60s during this “March Thaw” but the infamous 70° has eluded the official thermometer for the metro located in a shaded box at MSP International.
Enjoy the warm up because its back closer to normal just in time for St. Patty's day. It was just a few years ago on March 17th when the metro hit its earliest 80° ever!
The wind flow will help us end the weekend on a warm note but those winds will also turn on us as we head into another work week. March is one wild weather month.
