A COLD HEARTED date: The biggest Valentine's chill in years


Wow, that is quite the headline but it is also true as we brace for single digit highs and single digit, below zero, lows for this Saturday February 4th. If you're 46 years old or younger, then the 14th of February 2015 is your coldest Valentine's Day ever here in the Twin cities. Here is a hint, forget about your sweetie and it will be even colder. Valentine's Day in the Twin cities is often a warm spot on the weather calendar. The fourteenth of February in the metro has seen near average or well above average, highs on half of the occasions since 2000 have been at or above that threshold.

Valentine's Day 2015 will go down in the record books as the coldest in at least 46 years, that will take you back to 1970 when we saw a high of 9° and a low of -15°. That is an average temperature -6°.
