We’ve got a newsroom full of sports fans at FOX 9, and since Samuel has lived in the East, the South and now the Midwest…we never quite know who he is rooting for on a given day. At work, Samuel loves digging deep into political stories and he’s around Minneapolis City Hall quite a bit. He’s a proud graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University; so we do know there is one team he’s always rooting for!

What’s your favorite junk/cheat food? Oreos or any Oreo-related ice cream concoction
What was your first job? Tutoring elementary school kids
What’s your favorite Minnesota season? Summer! The days are long, and the sun is out.
Hardest story you’ve covered:
Perhaps the hardest and most challenging story was the time a little boy was held hostage in a bunker underground in Alabama, near the town where I grew up. It was a week of little or no sleep, but thankfully he was rescued in the end.
Who is your personal hero? My late mother, for overcoming obstacles to ensure I had the best life imaginable
First pet and name: I once had a goldfish, but I forgot the name
Best vacation of all time? Europe, while I studied abroad. Took some weekend trips to England and Spain while I was in Paris
