Naomi Pescovitz

Naomi has spent most of her life in cities that end with “-apolis.” She was born in Minneapolis, grew up in Indianapolis, worked as a reporter in Minneapolis, worked as an anchor and reporter in Indianapolis and is now back in Minneapolis anchoring the new 7pm newscast on Fox9+!  Naomi loves food and reading new menus. You would be hard-pressed to find something she wouldn’t try at least once. She is guilty of posting pictures of her meals on social media, so if you have any great places to recommend, reach out to her on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

9 Questions for Naomi:

What’s your favorite movie?

The Princess Bride. It’s a Pescovitz family classic. We quote the movie often… “Wuv, Twu Wuv!”

What’s your favorite junk/cheat food?

Cool Ranch Doritos – I won’t turn down Nacho Cheese, but Cool Ranch is my jam.

What was your first job?

Babysitting some of my best friend’s younger cousins. The kids loved me but the parents noticed a lot of junk food was “missing” when they got home.

What’s your favorite Minnesota season?

Spring! I love when all the restaurant patios and rooftops open for the first time. It feels like the Cities are reborn. Shorts in the 40’s always make me laugh but after a Minnesota winter, it’s warranted.

Who is your personal hero?

My mom. She is the hardest working person I know. We lost my dad suddenly in 2010 and despite that incredibly difficult time, she has continued to inspire all of us with her perseverance and love.

Her life motto is to reach for the stars and even you miss, you’ll still land on the moon. Those “moon-landings” she says, are often better than the stars ever were.

Do you sing in the shower, in the car, or none of the above?

ALL of the above. Especially if it’s old-school R&B, Britney Spears or The Lumineers.

First pet and name OR Current pet and name:

No pets… do Sea Monkeys count? We did have a pet albino rabbit named Rebecca when we were kids!

Best vacation of all time?

Galapagos Islands! We spent several days on a small boat following in Charles Darwin’s footsteps. We also got to meet the giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies.

When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be:

The Editor of Vogue or a pediatric transplant surgeon… vastly different, I know.
